2024-25 BMSB risk season | Invitation to register for DAFF info webinars

The Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) cordially invites you to register for virtual information sessions for pre-border treatment providers and related industry in preparation for the 2024-2025 Brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) risk season.

The department’s BMSB seasonal measures will apply to targeted goods manufactured in or shipped from target risk countries, that have been shipped between 1 September 2024 and 30 April 2025 (inclusive), and to vessels that berth, load, or tranship from target risk countries within the same period.

The department will host two information sessions via Microsoft Teams Live in the week starting 5 August 2024; the sessions will be one hour and 30 minutes in duration.

The sessions will cover the following topics:

• The department’s seasonal measures for the 2024-2025 BMSB risk season.
• AusTreat, the department’s new treatment providers scheme which has replaced the Offshore BMSB Treatment Providers scheme, including tips for registration.
• The department’s compliance verification activities, and observations from the 2023-2024 risk season.
• How to use the treatment certificate lodgement portal, including tips for best practice.

Officials from New Zealand’s Ministry for Primary Industries will also outline their department’s seasonal measures for the upcoming risk season. 

There will be time at the end of each session for attendees to ask questions.

Please note that while the information presented will be directed at treatment providers, attendance at the sessions is open to all. So, to ensure maximum participation, stakeholders, including customers and supply chain partners, be welcome.
