Fumigations in the ship’s hold are often done during a shipping, for example with bulk cargo of hatches with loads of grains. Before the ship arrives to the harbour, it has to be made sure, with gas measurement, that all fumigation gases are removed; the ship has to be gas-free. A gas-free declaration is mandatory. EWS has specially trained staff that is certified to hand off these declarations and that is well equipped.
