ISPM 15 refers to the regulations regarding the treatment of packaging wood for international goods transportation. Its purpose is to combat insects that might live inside the wood.
This process is carried out with a heat treatment. This method heats the container content until the wooden core temperature reaches 56° Celsius. At this temperature, all insects that might live inside the wood are neutralised in all life stages (including the eggs). The container content is heated by circulating hot air inside the container. EWS Fumigation is authorized by the TCHN to carry out these treatments.
